The 12th Tour of the Taihu Lake International Road Cycling Race began in Wuxi on Oct 12, with its fourth stage set for Oct 12 in Huzhou.

On the same day as this professional event, the Ride Around Huzhou-Suzhou Road Cycling Race – an event aimed at the general public – will also take place. It is expected to attract about 300 cycling enthusiasts, who will ride with 132 professional cyclists from 22 top global teams. The event will offer a unique blend of competition and scenic enjoyment as participants traverse Huzhou's picturesque landscapes.

The Ride Around Huzhou-Suzhou event will span 22 kilometers. Starting from the Lougang Visitor Center on Yigao Avenue, cyclists will journey along Huantaihu Road to Binhu Avenue, finishing at the Huzhou Olympic Sports Center. The route showcases the region's natural beauty and provides an immersive experience for participants.

Cycling's rise in popularity has led to increased interest in such events, highlighting the sport's eco-friendliness, health benefits, and convenience. This year's Tour of Taihu Lake marks Huzhou's ninth time participating in the event, enhancing the city's reputation as a hub for cycling enthusiasts.

According to the Huzhou sports bureau, these events aim to promote fitness, tourism, and cultural integration. With its beautiful autumn scenery and vibrant racing atmosphere, Huzhou offers a compelling glimpse of China's beauty, driving further growth in sports and tourism.

By combining professional and amateur races, Huzhou continues to foster a culture of health and physical activity, enhancing its appeal as a top destination for sports and recreation.
