Lucun village in Wuxing district, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, is gearing up to host a spectacular intangible cultural heritage festival to welcome the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7.
On Oct 2, 4, and 6, captivating performances of Yueju Opera will be staged. Yueju Opera, hailed as China's second-largest opera genre, is an important national intangible cultural heritage item.
Attendees can also witness traditional dragon dances and Datiehua — molten iron fireworks, both offering a glimpse into the fascinating artistry of Chinese folk traditions. There will also be acrobatic performances such as walking on stilts and breathing fire.
In addition, visitors can take the village's distinctive floral boat for a cruise on the river. Those donning hanfu — traditional Chinese clothes, can enjoy a free ride.
For a hands-on experience, families with children can participate in DIY activities to make delicious traditional delicacies with locals from Oct 1 to 3.
As the sun sets, visitors can enjoy an enchanting light show and relax under the autumn sky with an outdoor movie screening, embracing the tranquility of Lucun village. The outdoor movies will be screened only on Oct 6 and 7.
