Conference to explore boosting of common prosperity through culture, tourism industries

A national conference revolving around boosting common prosperity by developing the culture and tourism industries will be held in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on April 13, local media reported.
Huzhou, the host venue of the meeting, has long been at the forefront of championing common prosperity in China.
The city was recently ranked first in Zhejiang in a provincial appraisal of efforts to boost common prosperity in 2022. This is the second year in a row that the city has topped the evaluation.
The report focused on people's sense of gain, happiness, security and identity, key indicators adopted by Zhejiang to measure a place's common prosperity.
Huzhou has also been placed among top three places in Zhejiang in terms of the proportion of added value of the tourism sector to the city's GDP for four years in a row.
There are currently 3,235 homestays in Huzhou, the most in Zhejiang. The city, which has eight national key scenic villages, has seen its revenue generated by rural tourism top the province for seven years in a row.
In addition, authorities have been working to coordinate the development of its culture and tourism industries. The city has been designated a national pilot city to boost culture and tourism consumption. It was ranked second in Zhejiang in terms of the frequency of people visiting culture venues.
