Two industrial clusters from Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently listed among the top 100 industrial clusters in China.
The city's modern textile and garment industrial cluster and green battery advanced manufacturing cluster made the list released by the China Private Economic Research Association, coming in at 40th place and 97th place respectively.
To qualify for the top 100 list, industrial clusters must have an annual output value of at least 30 billion yuan ($4.36 billion), no fewer than 3,000 companies, and no accidents related to production, product quality and environmental contamination over the last three years.
Those that meet these requirements are then ranked based on four factors: innovation quality, development potential, integration level and green development.
In 2022, the 638 above-designated-size enterprises in the textile and garment industry in Huzhou generated 93.33 billion yuan in operating revenue, accounting for 12.7 percent of the total generated by above-designated-size companies in the city.
Huzhou is now the largest manufacturing hub for environmentally friendly power batteries in China. Last year, the city's battery-related sectors generated 91.14 billion yuan in output value, a whopping increase of 147 percent year-on-year.
