Huzhou's GDP up 9.5% in 2021

The gross domestic product (GDP) of Huzhou in East China's Zhejiang province amounted to 364.49 billion yuan ($56.07 billion) in 2021, up 9.5 percent year-on-year, according to local statistics authorities.
The growth rate was second fastest in Zhejiang, and 1 and 1.4 percentage points higher than the provincial average and the national average respectively.
The added value of the city's primary, secondary, and tertiary industries reached 14.86 billion yuan, 186.5 billion yuan, and 163.13 billion yuan, a growth of 2.9 percent, 10.6 percent, and 9 percent respectively.
The industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in Huzhou surged 13.3 percent year-on-year to 124.56 billion yuan, while the number of enterprises above designated size in in the city exceeded 4,000.
Among the 33 major industries in the city, 28 of them including pharmaceutical manufacturing achieved positive growth in added value.
The added value of its service sector registered an increase of 9 percent year-on-year, faster than any city in Zhejiang.
Stable increase was also seen in the financial sector. The balance of loans in Huzhou surged 21.3 percent to 720.36 billion yuan, while the balance of deposits in the city amounted to 686.23 billion yuan, up 15.2 percent.
The city's investment in fixed assets also posted a good performance, registering a yearly increase of 14.2 percent, 3.4 percentage points higher than the provincial average.
Huzhou's exports in the past year amounted to 135.62 billion yuan, rising by 32.3 percent, the fastest in the province.
In addition, its fiscal revenue expanded 17.5 percent to 68.38 billion yuan.
Residents saw a stable increase in income last year. The per capita disposable income of its urban residents rose 10.1 percent to 67,983 yuan, while the figure for rural residents was 41,303 yuan, up 10.9 percent.
