Changxing Economic and Technological Development Zone (CXETDZ) was established in 1992 and was approved by the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government in 1994 as a provincial-level development zone.

In 2010, it was listed as a national-level economic and technological development zone by the State Council, the first of its kind in a county-level city in Zhejiang.

Located in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta region, CXETDZ has prominent regional advantages, with four expressways, three high-speed railways, two national highways and a waterway running through the area.

In recent years, the zone has gradually developed a "3+1" industrial cluster dominated by the new energy automobile and key parts industry, the intelligent equipment manufacturing industry, biomedicine (big health) and new financial business forms.

At present, there are more than 330 industrial enterprises in the zone, including 103 ones above the designated size.

In 2018, CXETDZ's fiscal revenue reached 1.62 billion yuan ($228.4 million), up 27.2 percent year-on-year. A total of 21 100-million-yuan or above industrial projects were signed, with a total investment of about 42 billion yuan.

In the first half of 2019, the tax revenue of the zone reached 1.31 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 35 percent and about 69.7 percent of the annual target. Investment in fixed assets reached 2.77 billion yuan, up 10.1 percent year-on-year.

Industrial parks in CXETDZ

South Taihu Lake Headquarters Economic Park

The park gathers together intermediary services, settlement centers, marketing centers, research and development centers and corporate headquarters, with the aim of building up the headquarters economy of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.

Zhejiang Changxing International (Sino-German) Industrial Cooperation Park

Construction of the park began in 2015. After its completion in 2017, more than 100 groups of merchants from Germany, the United States, France, Italy, Austria, Australia and other countries visited the park. Since 2018, the park has signed 15 foreign projects with a total investment of $130 million.
