Huzhou holds intl marathon competition

The 5th Longemont Taihu Lake Tuying International Marathon was held on Nov 24 in Changxing district, Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. A total of 10,000 runners participated in the competition.
The event was first held in 2015 and has risen to the level of national competition after four years of development.
The competition consisted of three categories – mini marathon (4 kilometers), half marathon (21 km) and full marathon (42 km). Each category is divided into men's and women's races.
The competition routes passed through major scenic spots in the Taihu Lake Longemont Paradise.
Li Zicheng, a famous Chinese marathon athlete, won the championship of the male group in the complete of the man's full marathon in 2 hours 22 minutes 26 seconds. An athlete from Ethiopia won the women's championship in 2 hr 47 min 53 sec.
"The scenery alongside the route was beautiful and the locals were friendly. They cheered me on the entire way," said Li during an interview after the competition.
An athlete from Qinghai province won the men's half marathon with a time of 1 hr 5 min 44 sec.
