Hainan to host its first intl beer festival in Dec

The First Hainan International Beer Festival is slated to be hosted in the tropical city of Sanya from Dec 24 to Jan 2, seeking to forge a new calling card for Hainan's cultural tourism industry. 

The event will be a key part of the 2020 Hainan Island Carnival and will feature over 1,000 beer varieties from across the world, hitting a record high among all beer festivals.

In the context of the preferential policies in the Hainan Free Trade Port, the beer festival has attracted major beer brands from home and abroad, striving to ensure that consumers will enjoy themselves, said Guo Jiayuan, chief director of the festival.

The event will also showcase Hainan's characteristic folk culture like bamboo pole dances, which will combine with the province's beer culture and marine culture to create a unique cultural tourism consumption event.

By combining golf and sailing events with the beer festival to cater to young tourists, the First Hainan International Beer Festival is seeking to create an innovative business model that integrates culture and sports with tourism consumption.
