Guizhou forges path ahead for China's intelligent manufacturing

This year, Southwest China's Guizhou province has embarked on a journey to revolutionize its industrial landscape through digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing. The provincial government announced a comprehensive plan to support major enterprises in their intelligent transformation and digital upgrade endeavors.

The province's strategy focuses on key industrial sectors such as baijiu production, chemicals, non-ferrous metals, steel, building materials, and new materials. By utilizing advanced AI models, these industrial sectors are set to implement over 50 typical real-world applications, including intelligent scheduling, equipment maintenance, energy consumption optimization, quality inspection, and smart marketing.

To further this digital revolution, Guizhou plans to conduct digital diagnostics and assessments for 1,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ensuring that large industrial enterprises and specialized SMEs embrace digital transformation to the fullest extent possible.

In addition, Guizhou is supporting industrial enterprises in exploring data asset financing practices and establishing mechanisms for industrial data circulation and trading. The province is committed to the "5G + Industrial Internet" initiative, working towards the construction of 5G-enabled factories and accelerating the integration of the industrial internet identification and resolution system.

Guidance is provided to enterprises in classifying and grading industrial networks and data security, with the goal of achieving an 80-percent adoption rate of digital R&D design tools and a 60-percent numerical control rate of key processes.
