Shuicheng painting is a gem of Guizhou's folk art, distinguished by its vivid colors and rustic brushstrokes. These paintings depict scenes of daily life and festive celebrations, incorporating elements of Guizhou's ethnic arts and embodying historical culture and local customs.
The exhibition features 38 exquisite works by over 20 painters from Guizhou's Liupanshui city, which presents a joyful, hopeful, and colorful world to the audience.
At the opening ceremony, Miyamoto Yuji, president of the Japan-China Friendship Center, noted that the development of Shuicheng painting reflects the lives of real working people, coinciding with China's journey to alleviate poverty.
In his speech, Minister-counselor Chen Zheng of the Chinese Embassy in Japan said that national-level exchanges between China and Japan had become more frequent. He believed that the exhibition would further enhance mutual understanding between the two countries' peoples and promote the development of bilateral relations.
