Exhibition in Japan unveils Guizhou's hidden gems

The 2024 Colorful Guizhou: 17th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition Classic Works Tour (Japan) and Secret Guizhou 2025 Dialogue event kicked off on Dec 20 in Tokyo.

The event was launched simultaneously via video link in Tokyo, Japan, and Guiyang, Southwest China's Guizhou province. It features a classic works tour, a special promotional event, and a dialogue to boost art, culture, tourism, and media exchanges between Japan and Guizhou.

Guizhou is becoming a new destination for domestic and international tourists with the continuous development of tourism products and strengthened international promotion. The province is now included in China's 240-hour visa-free transit policy, making it more convenient for travelers to visit.

"During my visit to Guizhou in October this year, I saw colorful Guizhou at Huangguoshu Waterfall, Xijiang One-thousand-household Miao Village, and Fanjing Mountain," said Seno Shimizu, chairman of the Japan-China Association and former consul general of the Japanese Consulate General in Chongqing.

The 17th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition includes exhibitions, photography, and domestic and international tours. Japan, specially designated as this year’s guest of honor, held several interactive exchange activities.

Guests from Guizhou and Japan shared their impressions of Guizhou's tourism resources and international appeal from different perspectives. They also explored how to discover Guizhou's beauty and promote cultural and tourism exchanges between Guizhou and Japan.

The classic works tour showcases images of Guizhou to Japanese audiences. This allows them to experience Guizhou's natural scenery, ethnic culture, and modernization achievements, attracting them to visit Guizhou.
