The 2024 Colorful Guizhou: 17th PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition—Guizhou in the Lens of Chinese and Italian Young Photographers opened at Su Art Museum on Dec 19 in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The PhotoChina Original International Photography Exhibition, which began in 2008, is an international event focusing on the protection and inheritance of Guizhou's culture through imagery.

Adriana Lori, acting consul general of the Italian Consulate General in Chongqing, said the exhibition showcases Guizhou and Italy's beautiful landscapes and rich cultures and reflects the long history of cultural exchanges between China and Italy since Marco Polo's visit.

The exhibition features over 50 photographic works and short videos by young photographers from China and Italy. These works highlight the natural scenery, starry skies, and bridge construction achievements in Guizhou and the landscapes of Italy.

Francesco Tobia, an Italian photographer and promoter for the exhibition, expressed his gratitude for the invitation, which motivated him to continue his journey in Guizhou, capture its beauty through his lens, and share it with more people.

The exhibition will run until Jan 19 and include dialogues and exchanges focusing on photography creation and artistic exchange. Artists and photographers are invited to visit Guizhou for field trips and creative work to witness and discover its hidden gems.
