The National Immigration Administration announced that starting Dec 17, 21 ports of entry will be added for transit visa exemption, including Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport in Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Eligible citizens from 54 countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, who are transiting through China to a third country (or region) can enter China visa-free through any of the 60 ports across 24 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and stay within designated areas for up to 240 hours.

In the three newly added provinces of Anhui, Hainan, and Guizhou, visa-exempt visitors can stay and travel throughout the entire province.

To apply for the 240-hour transit visa exemption policy, travelers must meet the following conditions:

1. They must be citizens of one of the 54 countries eligible for the transit visa exemption policy.

2. They must hold a valid international travel document with a validity period of at least three months and meet the entry requirements of the third country (or region) they are traveling to.

3. They must hold a confirmed onward ticket with a set date and seat to a third country (or region) within 240 hours, fill out the temporary entry card for foreigners, and undergo inspection and questioning by the border control authorities.

Those who meet the above conditions can apply to the border inspection authorities at any of the 60 ports. The authorities will process their temporary entry procedures, and the visa-free stay period will begin at midnight the day after entry.
