The "China's Development: An Opportunity for a Colorful World" international exchange week was held in Zunyi, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 28-30.

More than 40 diplomats, experts, scholars, international bloggers, and students from over 15 countries visited Zunyi, where they had the chance to appreciate Guizhou's pleasant landscapes and diverse cultural heritage, as well as learn about the province's economic and social development.

At the site of the Zunyi Meeting, David Ferguson, honorary chief English editor of the Foreign Languages Press, said that visiting the site made him realize how difficult the Long March was.

By looking at pictures and maps, and being exposed to specific data, he gained a better understanding of the tremendous efforts and hardship endured by the Chinese Red Army.

During visits to local enterprises, guests learned about the production of special-purpose wire ropes, smart elevators, and core components of new energy vehicle batteries, marveling at the rapid development of Chinese enterprises in high-tech fields.

"Before, I knew that Guizhou was home to many rich ethnic minority cultures, but after visiting today, I discovered that it also has a lot of advanced factories," said Steven Weathers, a senior host of CGTN from the United States.

The guests also learned tea picking techniques and experienced aspects of traditional Chinese tea culture such as tea making and tea serving in Zunyi's Meitan county.

Biniye Mend-Amar, second secretary of the Embassy of Mongolia in China, said that it was his first visiting Meitan. He didn't realize that Guizhou had such a renowned tea production industry. Experiencing tea picking and tasting delicious tea in such a beautiful place really help one relax both physically and mentally, he added.
