The sixth China-ASEAN International Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Aug 19.

The competition aimed to promote exchanges and cooperation among Chinese and ASEAN university students, provide platform-based services and technical support for ASEAN students to start businesses in China, and help ASEAN students settle in China to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.

This year's competition added a category for rural vitalization, aiming to encourage students to contribute to the national rural vitalization strategy through their innovative and entrepreneurial efforts.

In the competition, 26 teams from the main category and five teams from the rural vitalization category stood out from the preliminary and semifinal rounds to enter the finals.

To ensure fair and high-quality evaluation, the finals invited five university department heads and entrepreneurs from different fields, as well as two technical experts, to serve as judges.

During the finals, participating teams engaged in exchanges and cooperation, showcasing the unique features and highlights of their projects, which encompassed fields such as agriculture, new medical science, electronics information, and biohealth.

The final competition consisted of team introductions, roadshows, and defense rounds. In the end, a total of two first-place prizes, four second-place prizes, eight third-place prizes, 12 outstanding prizes, and 10 outstanding organizational unit awards were handed out in the main category.

There were also two first-place prizes and three second-place prizes in the rural vitalization category.
