In recent years, Guizhou University in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has established friendly relationships with over 70 high-level universities and academic institutions in ASEAN countries and trained over 5,000 international students from ASEAN countries.

Playing to its unique strengths, Guizhou University has conducted a series of foreign assistance training programs for ASEAN countries.

In the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language and international Chinese education, Chinese education centers have been established in countries such as Indonesia, Thailand and Laos, training over 3,000 local Chinese language teachers.

Additionally, Guizhou University has organized multiple training sessions for government officials and university students in agriculture-related majors from ASEAN countries.

In August 2013, Guizhou University established the ASEAN Research Institute to conduct research on Southeast Asian countries and regional studies. Today, nearly 2,000 ASEAN students trained by the institute are actively engaged in various countries' politics, business and cultural sectors, becoming an important force in promoting the Belt and Road Initiative.

In recent years, the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week has provided an important platform for cooperation and exchanges between China and ASEAN in education, culture and technology, enhancing interaction and exchanges between youth from both sides.
