The 12th China (Guizhou) International Alcoholic Beverage Expo opened in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Sept 9, featuring world-class alcoholic beverages.

This year's wine expo showcased a variety of renowned alcoholic beverages, with over 3,000 domestic and international companies participating. Among them, a Maotai-flavored baijiu with 55-percent alcohol content stood out.

Traditional Chinese baijiu typically has an alcohol content higher than 50 percent, usually ranging from 55 to 65 percent. Maotai-flavored baijiu, including Kweichow Moutai, usually has an alcohol content of 53 percent.

However, Long Zehe, a renowned Chinese alcoholic beverage expert, proved that when the alcohol content is 55 percent, the ethanol and water molecules form the tightest bond, with the most orderly arrangement, the lowest entropy value, and the most stable state.

Maintaining the alcohol content at 55 percent is not an easy task. It requires repeated research and a balance of brewing and blending to create a bottle of high-quality 55-percent Maotai-flavored baijiu.

At the expo, the Maotai-flavored baijiu "Tanggong Yeyan" (Tang palace banquet) released by Jiufang Bajiu Group was granted the title of 2023 emerging brand.

The evaluation of emerging brands is one of the most important activities at the expo and is highly influential in the industry.

In the future, Jiufang Baijiu Group will continue to adhere to the transformation and interpretation of Chinese traditional culture and show the charm of Maotai-flavored baijiu.
