To protect the health of senior citizens and aid those sick with COVID-19, Southwest China's Guizhou province has sent 1.33 million free medical packages to key groups of people over the age of 65 starting from Dec 31.

Each medical package includes one box of acetaminophen tablets, one box of patented Chinese medicine for cough and inflammation relief, 10 medical surgical masks, one bottle of medical ethyl alcohol, and four nucleic acid detection antigen tests.

The key groups refer to people under 80 years old and have underlying health conditions, people over 80 years old who have never received any COVID-19 vaccinations, or people who are receiving dialysis and are disabled.

People with underlying health conditions who are under 80 years old and have not been vaccinated, or those who are over 80 years old and have no underlying health conditions can also receive these medical packages.

According to Guizhou's work plan for medical package distribution, government departments and Party branches at all levels should store, bag and distribute the packages properly. They should also register receivers with real names, and make sure that senior citizens will receive their packages in a timely manner.
