The Guizhou Institute of Technology in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently launched an online Chinese course to promote international language and culture exchanges.

The institute's school of international education took two years to prepare the course, which allows international students to learn more about Guizhou's culture and tourism attractions, as well as authentic Chinese.

The course introduces the location, history, custom, traditional costume and food of Guizhou's 20 most popular scenic spots. It is expected to help international students better appreciate Guizhou and improve their Chinese and intercultural communication abilities.

Since the institute started enrolling international students in 2016, more than 400 students from 20 countries have studied in the institute.

To promote Chinese culture and China's story amid the pandemic, the school of international education established a teaching team to ensure all the courses are available both online and offline.

The school has also arranged for international students to visit Guizhou's Hezhang county, Zunyi city, Chishui city, Xijiang town and Pingtang town for cultural studies.
