Guizhou's rape flowers bloom as spring arrives

With the arrival of spring, rape flowers in Nayong county, Xingyi city and Panzhou city in Southwest China's Guizhou province are now in full bloom, turning the countryside into a sea of gold.

The rape flowers in Guiyang's Kaiyang county, Tongren's Wawu township and Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture's Changshun county are expected to bloom in late February and early March.

Oilseed rape is an important cash crop in Guizhou in autumn and winter, and its oil is a main source of edible vegetable oil in Guizhou.

From 2021 to 2022, Guizhou planted 7.5 million mu (500,000 hectares) of improved varieties of oilseed rapes, explored the multi-utilization of oilseed rapes, and boost the rapid development of the oilseed rape industry.
