According to a report recently released by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, Southwest China's Guizhou province ranks fourth among China's 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities for its high-quality government open data platform.

The report points out that China's government open data development is in full gear. Currently, China has 143 online open data platforms, 21 of which are provincial-level ones.

There are currently 98,558 valid datasets on all of the platforms, increasing 37.9 percent year-on-year.

The machine-readable rate of all the provincial platforms is 85 percent on average. Six provincial platforms have less than 5 percent of fragmented datasets, while the provincial platforms of Guizhou, Zhejiang and Shandong have no low-capacity datasets.

The report also shows that Guizhou province has set standards and regulations to improve the quality of open data and is exploring the utilization of non-sensitive government data resources by State-owned enterprises.

In addition, the report offered advice on open data scale, platform function, data quality and data utilization.
