According to the provincial transportation department of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Guizhou aims to build 350 kilometers of expressways, renovate 300 km of national and provincial highways and upgrade 6,000 km of county and township roads this year.
Guizhou will additionally construct two water transport projects, renovate security and protection projects for 1,500 km of village roads and renovate 150 dangerous bridges in rural areas in 2021.
This year, the expressways from Duyun to Anshun and Weng'an to Kaiyang will be completed, while the expressways from Guiyang to Anshun and Anshun to Panzhou will start construction.
To improve the efficiency of road transport, the construction of 200 km of expressways and 265 km of national and provincial main highways, as well as the renovation of 5,000 km of county and township roads in areas that shook off poverty, will be completed this year.
Guizhou will also optimize the layout of freight transport hubs and cargo distributive centers and construct new-type service areas to endow expressways with more functions such as tourism and consumption.
