On Dec 27, Southwest China's Guizhou province released its top 10 economic events of 2020 as evaluated by experts. These events are:
1. Controlling the spread of the novel coronavirus in the shortest time and rapidly resuming work and production. It is estimated that Guizhou's annual economic growth rate will continue to be at the forefront in China.
2. Guizhou's nine remaining poverty-stricken counties shook off poverty. This means that all of the province's 66 previously impoverished counties have alleviated poverty.
3. The relocation of 1.92 million impoverished people, which is the largest number in China
4. With the rural industrial revolution, Guizhou's added value of agriculture is expected to increase by 6 percent this year.
5. Guizhou's industrial and service industries are continuing to grow, and the growth rate of the digital economy ranked first nationally for five consecutive years.
6. By the end of November, the number of Guizhou's market entities increased by 13.58 percent year-on-year.
7. More than 600,000 new jobs will be created in urban areas, and the per capita disposable income of rural residents will increase by around 9 percent this year.
8. Guizhou's forest coverage rate reached 60 percent, 100 percent of the main rivers' water quality was rated as excellent, and the public satisfaction rate for Guizhou's ecological civilization ranks second nationally.
9. Guizhou's 14 agricultural products registered as national geographical indications, making the total number 151, occupying 5 percent of China's geographical indications.
10. Zhenyuan ancient town scenic spot in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture and Chishui Danxia scenic spot in Chishui city were recognized as national 5A-level scenic spots.
