Guizhou demonstrates high-tech prowess at China Hi-tech Fair

At the 2020 China Hi-tech Fair held on Nov 11-15 in Shenzhen, in South China's Guangdong province, Southwest China's Guizhou province brought over 100 high-tech projects from 50 high-tech-related companies, universities, institutions and innovation platforms.

The projects represented the new generation of information technologies such as big data, blockchain and internet plus. They involved artificial intelligence, intelligent manufacturing, aerospace, new materials, energy conservation and environmental protection.

At the fair, five Guizhou companies signed five big data and 5G-related projects with companies from the Pearl River Delta region. Guizhou's delegation also organized exchange activities with high-tech businesses from the Pearl River Delta region and overseas regions.

China Hi-tech Fair is an annual exhibition for high-tech industries held since 1999. As an important platform for China's high-tech areas to open up to the world, the fair plays a crucial role in promoting the commercialization and industrialization of high-technologies and boosts the exchanges and cooperation between countries and regions.

In recent years, Guizhou has made efforts to improve the level and innovation ability of its high-tech industries and accelerate the upgrading of traditional sectors.

By the end of 2019, Guizhou had 1,741 growing technology companies receiving provincial support, 1,641 national high-tech companies and 463.98 billion yuan ($70.69 billion) of output value for its high-tech industry.

Guizhou takes the fair as a powerful platform to promote the province's high-tech industries' innovation and will continue serving and supporting regional technology transfers, the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements and investments.
