Southwest China's Guizhou province held a conference on production and sales in the new building materials industry on June 18, attracting the attendance of various company representatives.
Statistics show that in 2019, the total output value of new building materials in Guizhou was 156.9 billion yuan ($22.17 billion), occupying 12.3 percent of the output value of Guizhou's 10 main industries.
After years of development, Guizhou's new building materials industry has a system of seven major areas, 12 product categories, over 1,000 product specifications, and 1,281 companies above a designated size - those with annual revenue of 20 million yuan or more.
By the end of 2019, Guizhou's 75 cement production enterprises completed the transformation of new production processes for 85 Portland cement production lines, which phased out backward production capacities of 11.46 million metric tons and reduced 1.51 million tons of coal consumption, 11.35 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions, 394,100 tons of sulfur dioxide emissions, 14,700 tons of nitrogen oxide emissions, and 2,100 tons of dust emissions.
Guizhou also built 72 cement kiln hypothermia cogenerations with a total installed capacity of 473 trillion watts, which can generate 3 billion kilowatt-hours and save 902,700 tons of standard coal annually.
As the only pilot area of domestic waste disposal at cement kilns, Guizhou has built 14 pilot projects that can dispose of 4,050 tons of domestic waste per day. Meanwhile, the city strives to promote the comprehensive utilization of bulk solid wastes, and last year recycled 48 million tons of bulk solid waste from the building material industry.
To further improve intelligent and environmentally-friendly production in the building materials industry, Guizhou has organized various events and helped companies to achieve industrial transformation and upgrading.
