With the implementation of multiple policies designed to stimulate consumer spending, and the influence of the May Day holiday, 'smart tourism' is playing a key role in speeding up market recovery in Southwest China's Guzihou province.

Measures like limiting tourist numbers, requiring that people use online reservations and encouraging tourists to travel during different time periods all help make sure that popular scenic spots can meet tourists' demands, guarantee their safety and fully utilize tourism resources.

To prevent and control the novel coronavirus outbreak, Guizhou explored the application of internet plus by launching an online reservation system for scenic spots, digital libraries, and cultural big data platforms.

The online platforms also allow visitors to have access to information about discounts, and this is helping service industries such as food and drink, accommodation and transportation to recover from the impact of the epidemic.

Integrating with big data is expected to help service industries to innovate in their transformation and upgrading, and turn this crisis into an opportunity.

As one of the national big data comprehensive pilot areas, Guizhou aims to increase output, stabilize development and enrich service industry formats, and to help service industries to make a greater contribution to the province's economic development.
