Yunyan leads a new chapter in industrial growth

In 2024, Yunyan district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, made some impressive industrial achievements, reflecting its commitment to action, collaboration, and innovation.

By November, the district's industrial output had reached 35 billion yuan ($4.79 billion), with a year-end estimate of 40 billion yuan.

Throughout the year, Yunyan focused on advancing its industrial economy, constructing 291,000 square meters of standardized factory spaces and welcoming 35 leading enterprises to the Yunyan Industrial Park.

Key milestones included the recognition of four companies as provincial specialized, refined, distinctive, and innovative enterprises and 14 as provincial innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The district's industrial investment reached 600 million yuan by November and is expected to see an annual total of 710 million yuan.

A breakthrough came on Oct 30, as the Yunyan Economic Development Zone was designated a provincial development area. This development has fostered industry aggregation, attracting top enterprises like Guizhou Chipoch Intelligent Technology Co, with 35 companies generating a cumulative output of 1.37 billion yuan from January to November.

The Guizhou Industrial Design City in Yunyan, developed in collaboration with the Guangdong Industrial Design Association, has become a hub for leading design firms. By integrating academia and industry with institutions like the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, the Guizhou Industrial Design City supports Guizhou's industrial design ambitions.

In addition, as Yunyan invests in new energy, digital transformation, and smart manufacturing, it is embracing a future driven by the development of emerging technologies like AI and the metaverse. With industrial revenue surging – up 58.4 percent in software services by October – the district has balanced growth and innovation to forge a sustainable, high-quality industrial economy.
