Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, and Cartago in Costa Rica, recently signed a letter of intent to establish a sister city relationship, expanding Guiyang's network of sister cities and friendly exchange cities.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the China International Big Data Industry Expo 2023, or Big Data Expo 2023 for short, is to be held in Guiyang, Guizhou Province, through May 26 to 28, 2023.
Since its inception in 2015, the Big Data Expo has been held eight times. The CPC Central Committee and the State Council have attached high importance to the expo.
