The sitting volleyball event at the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities and 9th National Special Olympic Games is taking place at the South China Agricultural University Gymnasium from Dec 9 to 14.

Sitting volleyball follows a six-player system, with athletes remaining seated throughout the match, using their arms to move their bodies, as referees make calls based on contact between the buttocks and the floor.

The gymnasium is able to accommodate over 7,500 spectators and is equipped with facilities including wheelchair ramps, accessible elevators, accessible restrooms, and accessible showers. The venue has also added accessible signage, accessible information screens, and an accessible service center to provide "tailor-made" personalized services for athletes and spectators.
