The Tianhe District Urban Medical Group was recently launched at an opening ceremony at the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University, which was designated as the main hospital of the group.

The group comprises member units comprise the Tianhe People's Hospital, the Tianhe Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Tianhe District Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital – as well as 13 district-owned community health service centers and four community health service stations.

As the main hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University will progressively facilitate the sharing of management, disciplines, equipment, technology, and human resources.

The initiative aims to establish a 15-minute medical service network – allowing locals to access the facility within a quarter of an hour – enhancing the accessibility of medical care for residents.

It has allocated one-third of its outpatient service numbers to the community health service institutions within the group.

Patients can prioritize booking these out-patient service numbers through their family doctors and can also reserve patient beds and diagnostic tests at higher-level hospitals through community health service institutions.
