Guangzhou invests over 400m yuan in road infrastructure
Guangzhou intends to invest more than 400 million yuan ($56.76 million) in building supporting roads for the Hong Kong and Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base.
The project in Baiyun Lake Digital Science City's eastern area involves constructing five urban branch roads, including Vertical Road No 2 and Vertical Road No 3, totaling around 2.06 kilometers. Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and is set to be completed by December 2026.
The base is a crucial part of the "Five Parks and Two Districts" layout in Baiyun Lake Digital Science City. Covering a planned area of 3,345 mu (223 hectares), it concentrates on industries such as digital culture, e-sports, film, television, and animation. Several projects, including the Metaverse Future World Industrial Park, are already in place. The road project seeks to enhance the local road network, streamline traffic, and connect effectively to major arterial roads.

Upon completion, the infrastructure will boost transportation efficiency in the region, providing more convenient commuting options and logistics support for young people and settled enterprises in Hong Kong and Macao. This project will also help improve the business environment and support the development of the district into a high-quality digital economy industrial cluster.
