Guangzhou Metro Design Tower completed in Baiyun
On Dec 18, the Guangzhou Metro Design Tower located in Baiyun New Town was put into use.
The tower, which connects to Xiaogang Station along Metro Line 2, serves as the headquarters base of the Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute, by which it was independently designed and constructed. It integrates design, research and development, data centers, and related supporting industries, and it is the first high-rise nearly zero-energy consumption building in Guangzhou.

The tower comprises 17 above-ground floors and three underground floors, reaching a height of 88 meters. Incorporating the picturesque Baiyun Mountain scenery into its design, it showcases a fusion of Lingnan neo-Chinese style with modern architectural aesthetics. Utilizing technologies such as facade shading, breathing atriums, and rainwater collection for optimized energy management, it has achieved a three-star green building certification.

Nong Xingzhong, the secretary of the Party committee and chairman of the Guangzhou Metro Design Institute, stated that the institute will cooperate with the overall planning of the area, supporting developments in urban renewal, transportation hubs, low-altitude economy, municipal projects, transit-oriented development (TOD), and construction, contributing to regional development.
Baiyun New Town, as a significant development platform in Baiyun district, is evolving into a new highland of integrated industrial and urban development and a top-notch "city living room". It has already completed multiple headquarters buildings and high-end exhibition and cultural resources.
