Baiyun district has announced the groundbreaking ceremony for a new public health hospital on Nov 29, with a total investment of approximately 1.4 billion yuan ($192.62 million). The hospital aims to provide comprehensive medical services, including preventive care, clinical treatment, emergency response, and scientific research.

The new hospital is located near major highways, ensuring convenient access for residents and emergency services. The hospital will cover a total area of 87,100 square meters in northeastern Dashigang village, Jianggao town, with a construction area of 144,400 sq m. The first phase of the project will include a 17-story comprehensive building for emergency and medical services, as well as a two-story fever clinic, providing a total of 600 beds. The design concept of the hospital emphasizes a harmonious blend of modern architecture and natural elements.

The hospital is expected to enhance the public health emergency response capabilities of Baiyun and Guangzhou, as well as contribute to the improvement of the public health service system in Baiyun, promoting the balanced distribution of high-quality medical resources in the district. Construction is set to begin soon and will continue for several years.
