Baiyun to host 2024 China SUP Polo Open Tournament
The China Water Sports Administration has announced that the 2024 China Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Polo Open Tournament is set to be held at Baiyun Lake in Guangzhou from Nov 23 to 24. This national event is poised to feature mixed-gender SUP polo competitions across various categories, including Open, University, U18, and U12 groups.
Participants are expected to compete in teams comprising a leader, a coach, and six athletes, including two substitutes. Teams must include at least one athlete of the opposite gender during matches. Competitors are required to be in good health, proficient in swimming, and have a solid foundation in paddleboarding. They must also purchase accident and medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 500,000 yuan ($69,712.5) for the event period.

Registration is open until Nov 19, and participants should check in at Baiyun Lake on Nov 22, presenting valid identification and signing a participation statement. The event promises to be a thrilling showcase of balance, strength, speed, and technique, combining elements of basketball, soccer, water polo, and paddleboarding.
