The main line of the Guanghua Road expressway reconstruction project opened on July 31, marking a significant milestone in Guangzhou's infrastructure development.

The project features an integrated underground utility corridor and is recognized as part of the second batch of national pilot projects. It is also a key initiative for provincial and municipal construction efforts.

The reconstruction spans approximately 18.4 kilometers, extending from Baiyun district to Huadu Yayao Middle Road, with a design speed of 60 kilometers per hour. The project involves widening the existing six-lane road to eight to 10 lanes, constructing and renovating 11 intersections, and building 19 pedestrian bridges and five underpasses. This upgrade aims to eliminate traffic lights on the main line, ensuring smooth and rapid transit.

Simultaneously, the underground utility corridor is operational, stretching about 15.79 km. This corridor houses essential utilities such as water supply pipes, high-voltage cables, gas pipes, and communication cables, enhancing the efficiency of urban management and resource utilization.

As a crucial artery connecting Guangzhou's northern region to the city center, the project is expected to improve traffic flow and connectivity. It is expected to link major areas, including Guangzhou North Railway Station, the Airport Economic Zone, and the Guangzhou Private Science and Technology Park, fostering economic growth and development.
