Located at No 6 Huangzhuang South Road, Baiyun district, the Guangzhou Floral and Arboreal Species Botanical Exhibition Garden is the first specialized plant exhibition garden in the South China National Botanical Garden City Garden Integration System.

It not only boasts Guangzhou's first forestry-themed science museum but also conserves over 3,000 ornamental plant resources, with nearly 1,000 floral and arboreal species.

Managed by the Guangzhou Institute of Forestry and Landscape Architecture, the exhibition garden covers 340 mu (22.67 hectares) and features the first national flower germplasm resource repository for the wild peony family and the first national tree germplasm resource repository for the azalea and kapok family.

The garden showcases a variety of rare and beautiful floral and arboreal species, with the swaying Malabar melastomes being particularly eye-catching. It is also the birthplace of seven new varieties of Malabar melastomes, such as "Tianjiao."

Within the exhibition garden are propagation greenhouses and a garden of 100 flowers, exhibiting over 400 rare ornamental plants and more than 400 new and excellent flowering shrubs.

The garden also features endangered species like the Danxia Chinese parasol tree, which researchers have collected seeds from the wild to cultivate, with some now reaching approximately 4 meters in height. Each plant has a unique charm that is worth pausing to appreciate.
