Baiyun releases transportation system plan (2022-35)
The latest release of the "Guangzhou Comprehensive Transportation System Plan (2022-35)" aims to accelerate the city's transformation into a global integrated transportation hub.
The plan outlines the establishment of the "Travel Transportation Circle" and the "Express Logistics Circle," with the respective goals of shortening commute times between major cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and express logistics delivery times between domestic cities to just one hour.
By 2035, Guangzhou plans to develop a green and people-oriented urban transportation system, with goals such as allowing people to reach city centers and surrounding areas within 30 minutes and travel between cities in the Greater Bay Area within 60 minutes.
Furthermore, the plan proposes the construction of a well-connected intercity railway network, the high-standard planning and construction of an international aviation and shipping hub, and measures to establish a "one core and five directions" passenger transportation hub system within the railway layout.
