The Baiyun New City Rainbow Music Commercial District has been selected as the urban-level pioneer area for night markets in Guangzhou in 2024.

The district is located in the core area of the southern part of Baiyun district, covering an area of approximately 59.27 hectares.

In 2023, the district achieved a total annual turnover of nearly 2.6 billion yuan ($360 million), with a footfall of 50.19 million people. It hosted nearly 50-night markets, concerts, and other activities. The district houses 891 independent stores or brand counters, including several representative brands with nighttime characteristics.

Baiyun will make comprehensive efforts to optimize infrastructure nodes, promote the construction of subway lines, accelerate the development of corridors, cultivate diversified nighttime consumption patterns, and create a more prosperous nighttime consumption environment.

This year, Baiyun will continue to advance the application for the recognition project of the urban-level pioneer area for night markets in Guangzhou, such as the Korean-style street in Yuanjing Road and the first phase of the Guangzhou Design Capital, to accelerate the cultivation of the pioneer area for night markets.
