Guangdong unveiled its list of Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Souvenirs for 2023 on Nov 27, with a total of 100 traditional souvenirs making the cut.

Three of the souvenir brands on the list are from Baiyun, namely, Zhimeizhai's Tiandingtouchou soy sauce, Zhouxing water chestnut cake, and Wanglaoji herbal tea.

Zhimeizhai, a time-honored Chinese brand, traces its origins back to 1608. Renowned for its meticulous selection of ingredients and superior quality, it stands as an outstanding representative of China's four major soy sauce breweries. Tiandingtouchou soy sauce, listed as a "flagship treasure," is considered the Maotai liqor of the soy sauce realm.

Baiyun-based Zhouxing Food Company is the largest water chestnut flour production and export base in the country. The water chestnut cake it produces boasts a soft and smooth texture with a delightful chewiness, presenting a sweet and enjoyable flavor that melts in the mouth. It has claimed the top spot in the list of preferred gifts and souvenirs among local people.
