Athletes from Baiyun compete at 19th Hangzhou Asian Games

The 19th Asian Games were held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province from Sept 23 to Oct 8. Athletes from Guangzhou's Baiyun district are preparing to compete on the big stage in Asia.

The total number of athletes in the Chinese sports delegation is 886, out of 1,329 members. Among them, athletes Lin Kesi and Xie Zekai, who were cultivated in Baiyun, as well as Liang Weikeng, were selected for the Asian Games.

Representing their countries and areas, these talented individuals have been training tirelessly, hoping to bring home glory and make their fellow citizens proud.

Lin, born in 2001, is a resident of Yagang village, Shimen Street, Baiyun district. In April 2011, Lin was selected for the Guangzhou fencing team. To date, she has won several fencing championships.

Xie, born in 1996, is an outstanding athlete and sportsman hailing from Baiyun. Currently training with the national team, Xie has represented both Guangdong and China in various national and Asian competitions, giving impressive performances.

Liang grew up in Baiyun's Tangjing Street. Born in November 2000, he started playing badminton before the age of six and received systematic training around the age of 10. During this Asian Games, Liang will participate in the men's team and men's doubles badminton events.
