Guangzhou's Baiyun district recently held two free Yingge dance performances in the Taihe and Jiahe areas, which attracted more than 150,000 tourists.

Yingge dance, or "Hero's Song", is a traditional folk art combining dancing, Chinese martial arts, and Chinese opera with a history of over 300 years. It is popular in the Chaoshan area of Guangdong province in South China. It was also listed in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage items.

Dancers, each holding short sticks, jump up and down, incorporating powerful movements and strong rhythms. Yingge dance has always been regarded as the embodiment of auspiciousness and people believe that a Yingge dance performance brings "good luck".
