Being home to the three comprehensive transportation hubs of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Guangzhou International Port and Guangzhou Baiyun Station, Baiyun has forged a "railway engine" that has boosted the district's high-quality economic development.

With the operation of the China-Europe freight trains starting from Baiyun in 2016, Guangzhou's foreign trade has seen robust growth in the past six years, with a total cargo value of about 23 billion yuan ($3 billion).

Compared with previous sea transportation methods, the logistics time of exporting goods through the China-Europe freight trains can be reduced from 45 days to about 15 days, reducing customers' waiting time by about 70 percent and improving their shopping experience.

Located in Baiyun's Jianggao town, Guangzhou International Port is the largest container center in South China, a national "Belt and Road" strategic comprehensive railway hub, as well as Guangdong's key port to build an international freight hub and a logistics channel of the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Functioning as an international transportation hub, Baiyun enjoys superb conditions for the development of its air transport and modern logistics industry. The district plans to focus on developing its cross-border e-commerce industry to foster new drivers of foreign trade.
