The Terminal 3 and comprehensive transportation center of Baiyun International Airport will have access to six high-speed railways, five intercity railways as well as one airside MRT system, according to the plan released by Guangzhou municipal planning and natural resources bureau on Aug 3.

With an adjustment range of about 104.84 hectares, the construction will be carried out to the west of the Second Airport Expressway and north of Huadu-Dongguan Expressway.

Except 11 new railways and one airside MRT system, Terminal 3 will introduce several railways such as the Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen intercity railway and the Guangzhou-Heyuan high-speed railway, according to previous reports. 

With its flower design, the 420,000-square-meter terminal will realize seamless connection between air and rail transportation after opening. 

The airport's third phase expansion project, which includes the construction of Terminal 3 and the integrated transportation center, is being accelerated and is expected to be completed and operational by the end of 2025.
