Guangzhou is showcased duirng the 12th World Urban Forum.

Lei Weiju, deputy director of the foreign affairs office of people's government of Guangzhou municipality, led a delegation to Egypt to attend the 12th World Urban Forum from Nov 4 to 8.

During the forum, Lei briefed the UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN-Habitat, Anacláudia Marinheiro Centeno Rossbach, on the Guangzhou Award. The delegation also met with officials including Kazuko Ishigaki,  regional representative of the UN-Habitat Regional Office for Asia and Emilia Saiz, secretary general of the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG) to deepen international exchanges and cooperation between Guangzhou and relevant institutions and cities.

Lei also participated in a side event co-hosted by Guangzhou and Moscow themed urban climate where he delivered a keynote speech. Additionally, he attended various thematic meetings organized by UN-Habitat and UCLG, sharing Guangzhou's green development experiences and actively promoting the city's involvement in global urban governance.
