Four sightseeing bus routes in Guangzhou will resume operation on July 6 after a suspension of nearly two years.

The bus routes include three daytime lines, themed on Xiguan characteristics, thousand-year-old ancient town and the city's new central axis, respectively; and one nighttime line of the new central axis. The daytime bus routes will operate between 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., while the night-time route will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m..

The Xiguan characteristics bus route traverses a number of renowned tourist destinations in the older part of the city, including Beijing Lu Pedestrian Street, Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, Guangxiao Temple, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Cantonese Opera Arts Museum, Yongqingfang, and Shamian Island. Along the route, visitors are able to taste authentic Cantonese delicacies and street foods, thereby experiencing the essence of Guangzhou as a renowned food capital.

The bus route themed "thousand-year-old city" presents an array of tourist attractions related to the Chinese Revolution. These include the Memorial Hall of the CPC's Third National Congress Site, Guangzhou Uprising Martyrs Cemetery, Peasant Movement Institute, Huanghuagang 72 Martyrs' Cemetery, and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.

Full of modern landmarks, the nighttime route of the city's new central axis covers a longer distance than before, commencing from Canton Tower, going through Guangzhou Bridge, Haixinsha Island, Zhujiang New Town, Ersha Island, Dashatou Wharf, and returning to Canton Tower.

The standard one-day ticket for the sightseeing bus is priced at 40 yuan per individual. Pre-sale tickets at a reduced price of 20 yuan per person are available for purchase from July 1 to 5, which can be used from mid-July to September 30. A one-day ticket allows a passenger to transfer to different sightseeing bus routes unlimited times within a 24-hour period after the ticket is activated.

The sightseeing buses were first launched in 2016 and are equipped with an automatic audio guide system introducing tourist spots in eight languages, which has facilitated over 3 million passengers from home and abroad.
