More than 100 young students, experts and scholars from the United States arrived in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, earlier this week for the Sino-US Youth Exchange Week, which began on Tuesday.
The All-China Youth Federation and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) organized the event to promote exchanges and cooperation between youths from the two nations.
The participants will cover topics such as green and low-carbon development, youth entrepreneurship, cultural and artistic education, health and hygiene, economic cooperation, trade and innovation.
Lionel M. Ni, the university's president, said he was glad to invite the young American guests to visit the school and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
"All teachers and students at the university are ready to communicate and interact candidly with American youths on various topics," he said.
According to Ni, youths from China and the United States have a greater responsibility to deepen understanding, bridge differences, and contribute to humanity's peace and sustainable development.
