On March 5, Guangzhou Mayor Sun Zhiyang warmly welcomed the visit of a delegation led by Istvan Szabo, the head of Pest county's assembly, Hungary. Sun introduced the economic and social development of Guangzhou to the visitors.

Sun emphasized that Guangzhou, a crucial central city and international communication hub in China, boasts a profound historical and cultural heritage and an excellent business environment.

He mentioned that since establishing the internationally friendly cooperative relationship between Guangzhou and Pest county, the exchanges and cooperation between the two sides have achieved significant results. Sun looks forward to utilizing the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hungary to deepen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, technology, and culture and to promote new developments in bilateral ties.

Szabo expressed his appreciation for Guangzhou's development achievements and noted the strong complementarity and broad potential for cooperation between Pest county and Guangzhou in many fields.

He stated that Pest county is looking forward to strengthening communication and exchanges with Guangzhou, especially in promoting cooperation in humanities, education, electronics, and pharmaceuticals. He anticipates achieving more substantive results from the cooperation.
