In collaboration with China Southern Airlines, the Guangzhou municipal culture, radio, television, and tourism bureau hosted the 2024 Guangzhou Chinese New Year: Viewing Flowers in the Flower City - International Tourists' Happy Journey to Guangzhou event from Feb 21 to 25.

This event attracted 75 internationally renowned individuals and their families from 18 cities across 17 countries, offering them a chance to experience Guangzhou's rich culture and warm hospitality.

Guangzhou is now becoming a top destination for more international tourists. During the event, guests deeply experienced the unique Lingnan culture of Guangzhou and expressed their admiration for the city's history, culture, and modern urban landscape. They eagerly expressed their desire to recommend Guangzhou to more people.

Since 2017, the Guangzhou municipal culture, radio, television, and tourism bureau has been actively working with China Southern Airlines to develop the overseas tourism market. They have established 20 overseas promotion centers across five continents and 17 key national cities. Through various tourism promotional activities, they have attracted more inbound tourists.

In the preceding year, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport achieved a passenger throughput surpassing 63 million, maintaining its position as the top domestic airport for the fourth consecutive year. Guangzhou has expanded its international reach by adding, resuming, or increasing over 100 international passenger air routes. 

Furthermore, the city has introduced a 144-hour visa-free transit policy for nationals from 54 countries. These strategic measures are poised to propel the development of Guangzhou's tourism industry, attracting a greater influx of international visitors eager to experience the city's distinctive allure.
