The Understanding China-Greater Bay Area Dialogue forum kicked off on Wednesday in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, providing a good channel and platform for the world the country, which is experiencing rapid economic growth.
Wang Gang, deputy head of the publicity department, said China's modernization poses no threat to the world.
"On the contrary, China's modernization drive brings development opportunities to the world," he said.
Wang made his remarks at the opening ceremony of the forum.
Politicians, strategists, experts, scholars, business executives, diplomats and representatives of international organizations will discuss and exchange views around Chinese modernization and opportunities for the world.
The three-day forum includes parallel and closed-door seminars and special sessions.
Foreign participants were invited to visit the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to get a sense of its economic vitality, which included nine Guangdong cities, plus the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.
The Understanding China conference, which has been hosted six times, has attracted hundreds of politicians, strategists and senior business executives from around the world to join their Chinese counterparts for in-depth dialogue.
It has established itself as one of the most influential platforms in the world for gaining insight into China's development strategies.
