Guangzhou enterprises help BRI construction

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and as an important hub city of the Belt and Road, Guangzhou is actively participating in the joint construction of the BRI.

In the past 10 years, Guangzhou's investment in countries and regions along the Belt and Road has grown at an average annual rate of 18 percent. Last year, Guangzhou's exports to countries and regions along the Belt and Road exceeded 200 billion yuan ($29 billion).

Benefiting from the Belt and Road, Guangzhou enterprises have actively participated in the BRI and strengthened cooperation with BRI participants to reflect Guangzhou's responsibility, as well as to better present China to the world with Guangzhou brands.

Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC Group) has partnered with the Lagos State Government of Nigeria to build the LAGRID project, a ride-hailing platform, to help improve local transportation, create jobs, and promote Nigeria's economic development. At present, 1,000 vehicles have been officially delivered to the Lagos State Government and been put into use in the LAGRID project.

In addition, Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL), the largest Chinese patent medicine production base in China, has registered and sold its Chinese patent medicine "Huatuo Zaizao Pill" in Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, as well as other countries and regions along the Belt and Road.
